I founded the Trufant Family Foundation because I understand that in addition to my own personal efforts, my parents and family along with other people in the community are responsible for my success. I therefore have a desire in my heart to give back to individuals and the community who have given unto me.

I am looked upon in the community as a role model for youth and do not take that title lightly. I have in fact accepted the title of a role model and claimed it as my own. As a role model I have been asked to be apart of many activities and events and in the public forum. It has all been fresh and new and I am learning that people want to see their role models up close and personal. I have therefore taken the time in my first year in the National Football League to speak to youth and adults in addition to signing autographs at some of the community middle and high schools; I have participated in football camps and appeared at several events to help promote community causes. This is my way of giving back.

My family also understands the concept of giving back and is driven like myself to give back to them who have given unto us. Thus the Trufant Family Foundation was born as a way for the public to help Marcus and his family Support community efforts and children's and family causes. Our first sponsored event was the Trufant Family Foundation Dinner and Rookie Year Celebration. Through this event and with my own personal funds we were able go give a donation to the elementary, middle school and high school I attended. We were also able to give a donation to the Al Davies Boys and Girls Club in Tacoma WA where I first developed my skills as a football player. I am proud to say that the donations will be used for athletic and academic improvements at each of those schools.
